You can learn the foundations of digital marketing in 30 days if you spend about two hours a day and work on a real website or business page instead of only watching videos. Week one covers how digital marketing fits together and sets up Google Analytics 4 and Search Console. Week two is SEO. Week three is paid ads on Google and Meta. Week four is social media, email and a small project you can show an employer. Thirty days won't make you an expert, but it gives you enough hands-on experience to pick a specialisation.
This is roughly the order we follow in the first month of TechNet Consultancy's digital marketing course in Anand. You can do it on your own with free tools.
What should you prepare before day 1?
- A practice website. A free blog, your family business's site, or a simple one-page site is fine.
- A Google account for Analytics, Search Console, Keyword Planner and Skillshop.
- A Facebook Page and Instagram professional account you're allowed to post on.
- A notebook or document where you log what you did and what happened. This becomes your portfolio.
Week 1 (days 1 to 7): how does digital marketing fit together?
- Days 1 to 2: Learn the main channels: SEO, paid search, paid social, organic social, email, content. Write one paragraph on what each is for.
- Day 3: Map a customer journey for one real business: how someone discovers it, compares options and enquires.
- Days 4 to 5: Set up Google Analytics 4 on your practice site and learn the reports for traffic sources, pages and key events.
- Days 6 to 7: Set up Google Search Console, submit a sitemap and look at the queries and pages reports.
Week 2 (days 8 to 14): how do you learn SEO basics?
- Days 8 to 9: Keyword research with Google autocomplete, "People also ask" and Keyword Planner. Pick five keywords for your site.
- Days 10 to 11: On-page SEO. Write titles, meta descriptions and headings for two pages, and answer the main question in the first paragraph.
- Day 12: Technical checks with PageSpeed Insights and Search Console's indexing report.
- Day 13: Local SEO. Create or improve a Google Business Profile, if you have a real business to practise on.
- Day 14: Write and publish one genuinely useful article targeting one keyword.

Week 3 (days 15 to 21): how do Google Ads and Meta ads work?
- Days 15 to 16: Study how Google Ads auctions, match types and Quality Score work. Start a Skillshop Google Ads Search certification.
- Day 17: Build (but don't necessarily launch) a Search campaign: one ad group, ten keywords, negatives, and a responsive search ad.
- Days 18 to 19: Explore Meta Ads Manager. Learn campaign objectives, audiences and placements. Install the Meta Pixel on your site.
- Day 20: If you have a small budget, run a short test campaign on one platform. If not, build the campaign and write three ad variations.
- Day 21: Learn the numbers: CTR, CPC, conversion rate, cost per lead, ROAS.

Week 4 (days 22 to 30): social media, email and your first project
- Days 22 to 23: Plan a two-week content calendar for Instagram or LinkedIn with a mix of helpful posts, proof and offers.
- Days 24 to 25: Create and schedule posts with Canva and Meta Business Suite. Try one short video.
- Day 26: Email and WhatsApp basics: building a list with consent, writing a welcome message, and simple automation.
- Days 27 to 28: Pull results from GA4, Search Console and your social insights into one simple report.
- Days 29 to 30: Write up your project: goal, what you did, what changed, what you'd do next. That's your first portfolio piece.
What should you do after the 30 days?
Pick one area to go deeper into for the next two or three months. SEO and performance marketing (paid ads) are the easiest to show measurable results in. Our guide on starting a career in digital marketing covers job roles and certifications.
FAQ
Can I really learn digital marketing in 30 days?
You can learn the fundamentals and complete a small live project in 30 days. Becoming job-ready in one specialisation usually takes three to six months of practice.
Do I need money to practise digital marketing?
Most of this plan uses free tools. Running live ads needs a small budget, but you can build and review campaigns without launching them.
Which free certifications should I take first?
Google Ads Search and Google Analytics certifications on Google Skillshop are free and widely recognised.
Which is easier to start with, SEO or paid ads?
Paid ads show results faster but cost money. SEO is free to practise but takes longer to show results. Many beginners learn the basics of both, then specialise.
Is a digital marketing course necessary?
It isn't required, but a structured course with live projects and feedback saves time and helps you avoid common mistakes.
